Before I ask you who you are, I guess it’s only fair that I tell you who I am?

Without boring you with the "I was born in a village north of the Border" stuff maybe we can just assume that I had a very ordinary family upbringing in a small Scottish village, my mother worked in a knitwear factory and my father was a coal miner.

I joined the Royal Navy aged 16, left when I was 24 and began a career in catering within hotels and leisure clubs and that is when it becomes interesting. In 1991 I decided to go back to college as a mature student to study leisure as a career and to fund this I was working 40 hours a week as a chef and a waiter in a small hostel in the south of England. Not very spiritual so far, so what happened?

I was not whisked away by an order of monks, a tribe of Amazonian Indians far from it; I got pneumonia.Whilst on a Christmas Holiday in Scotland in 1992 I found myself in hospital, unconscious with some very worried family around me. On the second night in hospital I found myself in the corridor being told to go back to bed by an old lady. I did as she asked only to find I was already there! Thinking nothing more than I had been dreaming I forgot the incident and was released a few days later when improvements to my health were great enough.

I returned to England and was convalescing when I started to experience odd happenings in my home, so odd that I found it impossible to sleep and was looking not so fresh. A friend suggested that I visited a woman who "knew about these things" and I duly did. This remarkable woman was to be my teacher, mentor and friend through an extraordinary journey that was to unfold over the next ten years. See the teaching website at www.orderofthewhitelion.com

Still a little confused? I could tell you about the odd past life experiences, the tears in class, the laughter when I realised what I really wanted, the joy at discovering my spiritual guides and how they have helped me; but that would be my path. What sets me alight now is to know that you are embarking upon your path; you are, arent you?
